ബര്‍ലിന്‍: കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസം കൊളോണ്‍, ലെവര്‍കുസെന്‍ ലൈഷ്ലിംഗനില്‍ അന്തരിച്ച തൃക്കൊടിത്താനം വെട്ടികാട് കടുത്താനം ജോസഫ് (അപ്പച്ചന്‍ 78) ന്റെ അന്ത്യശുശ്രൂഷകള്‍ ജൂലൈ 9 ന് ബുധനാഴ്ച ഉച്ചയ്ക്ക് ഒരു മണിയ്ക്ക് ലൈഷ്ലിംഗനിലെ ജോഹാനിസ്ബെര്‍ഗ് സിമിത്തേരിയിലെ കപ്പേളയില്‍ (LandratTrimborn Strasse 7981, 42799 Leichlingen) വി.കുര്‍ബാനയോടുകൂടി ആരംഭിച്ച് സംസ്ക്കരിക്കും.

ഭാര്യ മേരി തലശേരി തുറക്കല്‍ കുടുംബാംഗം. മക്കള്‍: ടിജോ, സാജോ, ലിജോ, അനുമോള്‍. മരുമക്കള്‍: സിനി, ജായല്‍.

1975 ല്‍ എത്തിയ ജര്‍മനിയിലെ ആദ്യകാല മലയാളി എന്ന നിലയില്‍ സംരംഭകനായി, കേരള ട്രാവല്‍സ് ഉടമയുമായിരുന്നു അപ്പച്ചന്‍.അന്നത്തെ കാലത്ത് ആദ്യമായി ഒരു മലയാളിയ്ക്ക് ശ്രീലങ്കന്‍ എയര്‍വേസിന്റെ അംഗീകൃത ട്രാവല്‍ ഏജന്‍സി ലഭിച്ചതും കേരള ട്രാവല്‍സിനായിരുന്നു. ജര്‍മ്മനിയിലെ ആയുര്‍വേദത്തിന്റെ പയനിയറായി, കേരളത്തിന്റെ സാംസ്കാരിക അംബാസഡറായും, സാമൂഹിക പ്രവര്‍ത്തകനായും പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചു. ജര്‍മനിയിലെ ചങ്ങനാശേരിക്കാരുടെ കൂട്ടായ്മയായ ഫ്രണ്ട്സ് ഓഫ് ചങ്ങനാശേരിയുടെ (എഫ്ഒസി)ആദ്യകാല പ്രസിഡന്‍റ്റായി ദീര്‍ഘകാലം പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചു. നല്ലൊരു സംഘാടകനായി വലിയൊരു സുഹൃത്ബന്ധവും സ്ഥാപിച്ചു.

എഫ്ഒസിയുടെ ലേബലില്‍ ചങ്ങനാശേരിയുടെ ഉന്നമനത്തിനും തദ്ദേശത്തുള്ള സ്കൂളുകളില്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍ക്ക് പഠനസാമഗ്രികള്‍, സംഭാവന നല്‍കി സഹായിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. നാട്ടില്‍ സണ്ടേസ്കൂള്‍ അദ്ധ്യാപകനായും പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

ജര്‍മനിയില്‍ ജീവിക്കുമ്പോഴും നാടിന്റെ കൈത്താങ്ങായി നിന്ന് കേരളത്തിലെ ഭവനരഹിതരെ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കുന്നതിനായി ജീവകാരുണ്യ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി നാട്ടിലെ രണ്ട് ഏക്കര്‍ കുടുംബ ഭൂമി സംഭാവന ചെയ്ത് കാരുണ്യത്തിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും നിസ്വാര്‍ത്ഥ സംഭാവനകളില്‍ ഒന്നാക്കി മാറ്റി അപ്പച്ചന്‍ ജര്‍മന്‍ മലയാളികള്‍ക്ക് മാതൃകയായി.
